Got the Honda loaded down!
(Why am I towing this with a Honda? Check out the installation of the Honda trailer hitch!)

We made sure to balance the weight on the trailer so it was not on the car’s springs. Notice how it is not sagging very much in the rear.

Drove great on the hour trip back home. But now I had to figure out how to get this thing off the trailer by myself.

After contemplating for a while, I went to the basement scrap pile and found an old piece of rigging. Should work perfect right here:

Welded’er on and tested’er out. Dropped the gate and pulled the trailer out, then lowered it down onto two car dollies.

The finished lifting apparatus. I am very excited about having this setup in my garage, because I often drag home totally random heavy stuff and have to unload it by myself.

I have a tendency to plan everything out before I do it. I will often make plans in my head for days/months/years before I actually carry them out. In this case I had to do some research and get some of the ideas out of my head and onto paper.

I have learned the hard way, that as hard as it is to take the time to plan projects, it is always worth it in the end.
