DIY Metal Fab – Replica Lamborghini built in home basement 2

Talk about DIY Metal Fabrication. Ken Imhoff (not me πŸ™‚ ) built a replica Lamborghini Countach from scratch in his basement! This is too cool not to share.

So a big part of my site is to show you how many things are possible with enough determination and some tools. If you look around yourself right now, there are fabricated things all around you. You might say “these are mass-produced in a factory though…”. My argument though is that metal desk you are working on right now was once a one-off prototype built by a fabricator. There is no magical step from idea to final product. Many things in DIY Home Fabrication take a lot of tests, failures,Β and learning.

Ken Imhoff had a lot of steps and learning during the 17 YEARS in which he built a replica Lamborghini Countach from scratch in his basement!! Having spent a lot of time in the garage, I know that a lot of patience, time, and effort went into this project. Check out the pictures and head to Ken’s site WWW.KIENGINEERING.COM. He is a great example of what you can do in your own garage if you put your mind to it!

Don’t let me steal Ken Imhoff’s thunder though, go check out his mission and more details HERE.

Wow, that is really impressive that you made this at home. I have been looking into metal fabrication recently, and it isn’t as easy as some people make it look. You can tell that you know what you are doing by making this Lamborghini. Thank you for sharing these photos.

Thanks for the compliments, but I didn’t build this one πŸ™‚ All of the credit should go to Ken Imhoff who spent 17 years building this thing from scratch. I am a pretty dedicated garage fabricator, but I’m not sure I could work on the same project for 17 years!?
